Hutton Manor Care Home Achieves Outstanding VFF Status: A Testament to Teamwork and Veteran Support

Hutton Manor Care Home, a popular facility located in Pudsey, Leeds, has recently achieved an ‘Outstanding’ Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) Status. This remarkable accomplishment underscores the dedication and teamwork of the Hutton Manor team in providing exceptional care for veterans and those with an armed forces background.

Inviting Veterans and Their Families

Hutton Manor extends a warm invitation to individuals with an armed forces background and their families. If you or a loved one is seeking care in Pudsey, Leeds now is the perfect time to reach out and explore the supportive environment that Hutton Manor offers. The Leeds care home is committed to providing tailored care that meets the unique needs of veterans.

Launching the Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club

To further support the veteran community, Hutton Manor is excited to announce the formation of an Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club. This initiative aims to create a space where veterans can connect, share experiences, and discuss how care can be tailored to their specific needs. The club will serve as a valuable resource for veterans and their families, providing insights into available care options and the benefits they can access.

Home Manager Helen Fowler on Supporting Veterans

Helen Fowler, the Home Manager of Hutton Manor, emphasised the importance of supporting veterans in the community. She stated, “There is a lot of funding available to support people who may need 24-hour care. We want to facilitate this and, in doing so, enable people to live life to the full at Hutton Manor.”

Join the Hutton Manor Armed Forces and Veterans Club

The link to join the Hutton Manor Armed Forces and Veterans Club is open, and veterans are encouraged to sign up. Helen added, “We want the Pudsey community to know that Hutton Manor Care Home is here to support people with an armed forces background, and we aspire to be the home of choice for veterans in the Leeds area and particularly Pudsey.”

Recognised on the VFF Map

St Mary’s Hutton Manor Care Home now proudly stands among the select homes that have achieved VFF status. This recognition places Hutton Manor on the VFF map, highlighting its commitment to excellence in veteran care.

Former members of the Armed Forces in Pudsey and other Leeds areas will benefit from enhanced person-centred care and support after the care home they live in achieved the standards required for the Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF).

The aim of the VFF is to better support the practical, emotional and social needs of the Armed Forces community, in residential care homes across England, by providing training and resources to assess and improve the care they offer. It will help tackle loneliness and has the scope to deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes for the 25,000 veterans living in care homes in England.

To achieve their Veteran Friendly status, Hutton Manor Care Home was required to meet eight standards. These included: noting Armed Forces status within care plans; addressing social isolation; and signposting to support services, such as their local Royal British Legion branch, and other charities that provide support for veterans or partners of veterans.
