St Mary’s Chanterlands – Residential, Nursing & Dementia Care in Hull
At St Mary’s Chanterlands in Hull, we believe every resident deserves not only the best care but also the chance to enjoy life in a warm, supportive environment.
Our person-centred approach means residents are encouraged to stay active, independent, and involved — whether it’s enjoying a favourite hobby, helping in the garden, taking part in gentle exercise, or simply keeping up with familiar daily routines.
Facilities at St Mary’s Chanterlands include a weekly hair salon, comfortable lounges, and private rooms where residents can catch up with friends and family in peace or socialise in a relaxed setting.
We run a varied activities programme with regular events and trips both in and beyond the home — from cinema and theatre visits to local charity fundraisers and community exhibitions.
We’re proud to be part of the Dementia Friends campaign and actively support research into best practice for people living with dementia. Our team is trained to provide respectful, personalised support that helps residents feel safe, connected and truly at home.
Please book a visit and come and see for yourself what life is like at St Mary’s Chanterlands.

Meet Our Home Manager – Jayne Boothby
I’ve worked in care for over 30 years, and my passion for nursing began when I looked after my own grandfather. That experience shaped my approach to care and led me to a career I truly love.
Before joining St Mary’s Chanterlands, I worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager and have managed nursing homes across the region. I’ve built strong relationships with local healthcare professionals, which helps make the move into care as smooth and reassuring as possible for new residents and their families.
I take a very hands-on approach and believe in leading by example. Creating a warm, welcoming environment for both residents and staff is what matters most to me.
Outside of work, I’m a keen angler and an active supporter of the Hull Fishing Heritage Centre, where my husband, Jerry, is the chairman.
