At St Mary’s Care Homes, we are proud to announce our official sponsorship of the Hull FC Under 16s Girls team for the 2026 season. This exciting partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and empowering the next generation of young people through sport.

As a community-focused care provider, we are passionate about creating opportunities that inspire growth, confidence, and teamwork. Through this sponsorship, we will help provide vital resources, equipment, and opportunities to strengthen the girls’ rugby league pathway, supporting these talented young athletes as they develop and thrive within the game.

This partnership also holds deep personal significance for us, rooted in the legacy of Johnny Whiteley MBE, one of Hull FC’s most celebrated figures. The Whiteley family officially opened our St Mary’s Riverside Care Home in West Hull in 2022, creating a lasting connection between our organisation and the club’s proud heritage. Today, we continue to honour his legacy within our home, where treasured memorabilia, including his England Rugby League cap, serves as a daily reminder of his dedication, community spirit, and passion for the sport.

We are delighted to be working alongside the Hull FC Foundation, whose commitment to developing the girls’ game aligns closely with our own values. Their work in building a strong and inclusive pathway for young female athletes is truly inspiring, and we are proud to play a part in that journey.

Supporting Our Residents Through Intergenerational Activity

This partnership will also bring meaningful benefits to our residents across our four Hull-based homes: St Mary’s Riverside, St Mary’s Chanterlands, St Mary’s Care Centre, and St Mary’s Lodge. Through the collaboration with Hull FC, we will be introducing a range of intergenerational activities within our homes, creating opportunities for players and residents to connect.

These activities are designed to support residents in staying active, engaged, and socially connected, while also offering young players valuable experiences in community involvement. From visits and shared activities to light physical engagement sessions, the partnership will foster positive wellbeing outcomes and strengthen bonds between generations.

Steven Davis, CEO of St Mary’s Care Homes, shared: “We are delighted to be the official sponsors for the Hull FC Under 16s Girls team for the 2026 season. As an organisation, we believe strongly in backing initiatives that empower young people, and the dedication and passion shown by these players is exceptional. Through this partnership, we are excited about the opportunities it will be bring to create meaningful experiences within our four care homes in Hull, helping our residents stay active and connected through intergenerational engagement. We’re incredibly proud to support the team and look forward to seeing the positive impact across both our communities.”

Together with Hull FC, we look forward to championing the future of girls’ rugby league, celebrating the team’s achievements, and building a partnership rooted in community, opportunity, and shared ambition.
