On 26th February 2026, teams from across all of our homes came together for the St Mary’s Care Home Awards, held at the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham. The evening celebrated the dedication, compassion, and outstanding contributions of our staff, recognising the incredible care delivered every day within our homes and communities.
The awards highlighted individuals and teams who go above and beyond, sharing inspiring stories and celebrating the remarkable impact of care delivered with heart.
Celebrating Excellence Across Marton Care Homes
The awards for the evening were presented by Kirsty Crozier, Managing Director, with support from Executive Chairman, Richard Hoggart, and Chief Executive Officer, Steven Davis.
In total, 13 awards were presented, shining a light on excellence in care, leadership, teamwork, and dedication.
A Night of Celebration
To give the awards an interactive feel, Tobias Parry, from the recruitment team, took the role of Quiz Master, hosting two quizzes, games and a raffle for guests. During the quizzes, the tables were very competitive and the raffle proved to be a big hit with prizes supplied by sponsors of the event.
Honouring Outstanding Individuals and Teams
With 13 different awards presented across the evening, one of the main highlights from the ceremony was the Care Home of the Year awards, where St Mary’s Lodge were crowned this year’s winner in recognition for their exceptional standards of care.
The Care Home Manager of the Year award went to Sharon Burton at Shipley Manor Care Home, with the home also taking the prize for Catering Team of the Year.
A special award was also presented to Zaneta Balcerak, Care Home Manager at Hutton Manor Care Home, who was awarded the Inspirational Leader of the Year prize presented for their outstanding contribution to the home.
