What an honour at Shipley Manor Care Home! The soon-to-be re-elected Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, took a break from her busy campaign schedule last week to visit one of our residents and long-standing Labour supporter, Maureen. The care team was thrilled for Maureen, who was delighted to learn that Tracy Brabin, and candidate for MP, with a PhD Dr in social care, Anna Dixon would be stopping by.

It was a wonderful visit—Maureen, Tracy, and Anna had a great time catching up on all things political. Later, Sharon Burton, Home Manager at Shipley Manor, had an opportunity to speak to Tracy and Anna too.

During the visit, Tracy shared fond memories of her mother, Betty, who ran Betty’s, a beloved café known in Birstall, well known for its legendary lemon drizzle cake.

Maureen was delighted to hear that Tracy had been re-elected at the local elections last week – Perhaps it was down to the advice Maureen gave her!

Such visits remind us of the strong community bonds we cherish at Shipley Manor Care Home. Thank you, Tracy and Anna, for making this day so special!
